Get ready for the New Sunnyside in 2008. We are on the starting block for one of the most exciting years in the history of Morgantown. A successful Tax Increment Financing Proposal will lay the groundwork for a substantial reinvestment in infrastructure throughout Sunnyside. Let's work together to make 2008 a year that we will all remember.

A Look Back-2007

2007 was a great year for Sunnyside Up. We reorganized with a new director and a new vision. We created a partnership with WVU Student Government and conducted several activities led by our student leaders. WVU President Mike Garrison announced a new $23 Million Honors Dorm in Sunnyside. Several other significant projects broke ground and are currently under construction. We announced a new Facade Grant Program and a Graffiti Prevention Program. We welcomed a new Board Member, Mr. David Kelly of Kelly Rentals. The Comprehensive Plan was updated and will set the priorities for 2008. All in all, we have a lot to be proud of.

STUDENT LEADERS HONORED

Erica Rogers Jason Parsons

WVU Student Body President Jason Parsons and Student Governor Erica Rogers have been named "Sunshine Award" recipients for 2007. This award is given by Sunnyside Up to recognize outstanding contributions to the revitalization of Sunnyside. Jason and Erica have worked tirelessly to improve conditions for off-campus housing. The award will be presented during the January Board of Directors Meeting.

JANUARY

BOARD MEETING

The January Board of Director's Meeting will be held at 7:30AM on January 9, 2008.

SUNNYSIDE WALKS!!!

2008 will kick off an effort to make Sunnyside, a more walkable neighborhood. This will not only reduce vehicle usage, but will result in a healthier, more energy conscious population.
