Keep it Safe,

Keep it Clean

January 2008

Dear James,

2008 has started off with a bang!  We have begun the Tax Increment Financing application and several other projects are well underway.  A research project on student opinions on bringing cars to campus and other views has begun and this information will be useful for our future planning activities.

Remember: Keep it Safe, Keep it Clean

Don't Forget to Vote

Please don't forget to vote on February 2, 2008 for the Monongalia County Service Fee.  There has been a great deal of discussion concerning this proposal and the Sunnyside Up Board of Directors have gone on record in support of a "YES" vote.  For more information on the Service Fee, visit:   http://www.monservicefee.com/

Redesigned Plans for Mountaineer Place were recently released.  This project is being developed by S.C. Bodner of Indianapolis, Indiana and promises to be a great addition to Sunnyside.  S.C. Bodner is a very responsible developer and has many projects throughout the United States.  To visit the S.C. Bodner Website click on: http://www.scbodner.com/about/

We look forward to the groundbreaking on this new project in 2008.

RESEARCH PROJECT

We are very excited to be participating with the School of Journalism on a research project to understand the ways and reasons that students use cars in Sunnyside.  Dr. Elizabeth Quilliam is working with Sunnyside Up for this project as part of her Mass communication Research Methods Class for the Spring 2008 semester.

Six teams will undertake the research assignment and use various techniques to gain an insight into vehicle use by students.  The information gained will be used by Sunnyside Up in determining future projects and strategies.

Having access to this valuable resource is a benefit of our close cooperation with West Virginia University.

SPREAD THE WORD

Don't forget to forward this newsletter to your friends and contacts.  We can only succeed when more people become aware and involved.

Sincerely,
